What is Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
Low level laser therapy, or Cold laser, is a therapy that uses specific wavelengths to alter cellular functions and provide noticeable pain relief. Similar to photosynthesis in plants, LLLT has a photochemical effect that naturally reduces oxidative stress and increases the production of ATP. ATP is the organic compound that provides energy to drive muscle contractions and nerve impulses. It essentially uses non-thermal photons of light to penetrate the skin; and alter cellular function. The body then absorbs and interacts with the light sensitive elements within the cell starts to initiate a series of events in the cells that result in reduced inflammation (swollen), normalization of damaged or injured tissues (sprain/strain), and increase intracellular metabolism (reduces healing time).
At Absolute Zero Chiropractic, we use Erchonia Low Level Laser devices. Erchonia is the world leader in the field of LLLT technology dedicated to producing safe, effective solutions. These lasers made history by becoming the first laser company to receive FDA market clearance for the treatment of chronic pain. Today they are the leading laser company with 18-22 FDA clearances. It doesn’t matter whether your injury be old or new, cold laser therapy can aid in accelerating the healing process.
What can Laser Therapy Help with?
Research
Research has shown that it is beneficial to almost every tissue of the human body; which includes the brain, bone, cartilage/ligaments muscle. The laser stimulates nerve function and growth, decreases inflammation, decreases pain, decreases scar tissue formation, promote wound healing, stimulate anti oxidative pathways, increases and stimulates blood flow, and speeds recovery time in most injuries.
Conditions
The Erchonia Laser is the only LLLT to receive FDA Clearance to treat overall nociceptive Muscle skeletal pain which includes a vast range of conditions, such as: Arthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia, muscle strains, neck and shoulder pain, plantar fasciitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, ligament sprains, tendinitis, bursitis, tennis elbow, and much more!
